"Why I ordered machomen to sack my mum from my house" – Adebayor

Togo and Tottenham Hotspurs striker, Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor, has accused his mother and sisters of using juju – black magic – against him.

The player told Accra-based radio station, Peace FM, Thursday that he had ostracized his family out of fear for his own safety

“How can I talk to a mother who together with my sisters have been plotting juju against me?” he asked.

Adebayor’s comment follows allegation by his sister that he had abandoned the family.

She had earlier revealed in interview with Peace FM that Adebayor had abandoned the family, leaving them in an impoverished state. She alleged that the striker was also refusing to pick their calls.

She said: “As at now, our mother is selling polythene bags, padlocks and other things on the [Ghana-Togo] border. Our mother has not seen him for more than a year and he rejects her calls anytime.

“Our mother is not calling him for his money, she just wants to see him because she loves him very much.”

Adebayor however rejected the claims, saying: “They should stop talking talking, they should stop doing Juju on me; they should leave me alone…The one talking there and calling herself my sister I bought a house in East Legon for $1.2m…can you imagine that sister went to rent the house without my knowledge?

The Tottenham striker went on add that his family members had already shared his property among himself although he was still alive.

“They shared my houses, they shared my cars, they say if he dies this car is for you, this house is for you, can you imagine?” he said.

Adebayor is one of the richest African footballers, earning about 6 million pounds annually.
