Kwaw Kese further remanded till December 22 - Application for bail refused


Hip Life Rapper Emmanuel Kwaw Kese Botchway's  application for bail was refused and further remanded till December 22.

The Justice William Boampong in court on Monday November 24, 2014 denied the rapper’s lawyer Nana Kwesi Boitie’s plea for his client to be granted bail and remanded him in two weeks custody ahead of today’s sitting.

"Wearing a grey jacket over a white shirt, Kwaw Kese appeared in court today hoping to be granted bail.

"Mood here at the Kumasi Circuit court... can't really describe it... from the musicians and the hundreds who thronged here, disappointment may be the word

"Application for bail refused. Kwaw Kese further remanded till December 22.

"Counsel for Kwaw currently arguing it out. Says refusal will set a bad precedent.

"Judge to Kwaw's lawyer "Are you done?, I think I have spoken. See you on December 22"

Kwaw Kese is making an appearance this morning at the Kumasi Circuit Court.

He was brought to court in a taxi by two police officers and quickly whisked away.

Artist including Edem, Pastor Lord Kenya, Tic Tac, Guru Gemini are the few spotted at the Kumasi Circuit Court to observe today's proceedings.

Kwaw Kese is making his second court appearance.

Kwaw Kese's lawyer is Nana Kwasi Boitie.

Kwaw Kese's mood prior to hearing is calm.
