"Treating Kwaw Kese like an armed robber is not right"-Sonnie Badu

UK-based Ghanaian gospel musician, Sonnie Badu has made a passionate plea to the authorities to tamper justice with mercy in respect of hiplife musician, Kwaw Kese.

Sonnie Badu is one of many key personalities in the entertainment industry such as former hiplife star, Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya, popularly known as Lord Kenya, who have urged authorities to deal leniently with the rapper.

In a post on Instagram Saturday, the ‘Baba’ hit singer said the authorities should fine Kwaw Kese instead of treating him like an armed robber.

“I am pleading with the authorities to please have mercy on our brother  ... Please, please, please, a heavy fine will be well understood, but treating him like an armed robber is just not right, please have mercy on him,” he said.

Sonnie Badu admitted that Kwaw Kese was wrong in smoking cannabis but stressed he shouldn’t treated like a criminal.

“Yes he was wrong, but please don't treat him like a criminal... what is MUSIGA doing? Do we have to go see Asantehene? It's been a bad year for Kwaw, from his manager being murdered and all that #HAVEMERCY,” the award winning musician added.

Kwaw Kese, was arrested by the police in Kumasi on Saturday, November 22, for allegedly smoking cannabis and has been remanded into prison at the Kumasi Central Prison.

He is due to appear in court December 22 after three failed attempts to get bail.
