Kwaw Kese starts massive campaigns against drugs

Hiplife Artiste, Kwaw Kese, has begun a massive campaign against the use of narcotic drugs by the youth.

The embattled musician Kwaw Kese was arrested at Nhyaiso in the Ashanti Region after allegedly smoking marijuana in public.

During his last appearance at the Kumasi High Court last week, the prosecution said results conducted on the substance had proven to be Indian hemp.

A joint statement signed by the management of Kwaw Kese and the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), said Kwaw Kese remains committed to the ‘Say No To Drugs Campiagn’ as is evident in his support to Prisons and outreach programs each year.”

“He challenges the youth of Ghana “to be positive, be patriotic and to do all they can to follow their dreams,” the statement further said.

The joint statement further called on Ghanaians to desist from making further statements that will be prejudicial in Kwaw Kese’s quest for Justice.”

“We are therefore calling on all parties to desist from making further statements and embarking on campaigns such as #FreeKwawKesse et al in a bid to support Kwaw Kese. On the contrary, these activities along with the heightened media coverage only go to worsen the plight of Kwaw. With the full confidence in we have in Ghana’s Legal System, the Police and Prison Service we passionately make this plea,” it said.

There have been several calls by major stakeholders in the music industry for Kwaw Kese to be released but the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Ghana, Paul Frimpong-Manso has kicked against moves to plead for his release.
