"Load-shedding to reduce over the weekend"- ECG

Two power generation firms, CERNIT and TICO have added 220 megawatts to the national grid to ease current load shedding arrangement that has been a source of discomfort for many consumers.

CERNIT and TICO had been undergoing some mandatory maintenance.
The good news means Ghana's available power for supply is about 1,650 megawatts.
Industries will be given priority in the distribution of 220megawatts.

Some consumers will be shocked to enjoy prolonged supply of power over week-end after coming to expect power cuts according to a load shedding timetable released by the Electricity Compnay of Ghana.
Consumers by the table are expected to have 12 hours off and 24 hours of power depending on available power generated by the Volta River Authority.
