VIDEO: Ghana's Stonebwoy wins BET Award for Best African Act

Ghana’s Stonebwoy has won the 2015 BET Award for Best African Act at the pre-taped ceremony, ahead of the main Awards in Los Angeles. Stonebwoy is a testament to reggae and dancehall existing outside of Jamaica. The Ghanaian artist's afro-pop driven brand of reggae is an example of the genre's cross-continental appeal.

The dancehaller beat fellow Ghanaian’s Sarkodie, South Africans, AKA and The Soil, Congolese singer Fally Ipupa, Kenyan Afro-Pop band Sauti Sol, and two Nigerian Pop stars, Wizkidand Yemi Alade.
