Aubameyang wins CAF Player Of The Year ahead of Yaya Toure and Andre Ayew


Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named as 2015 CAF Player of the Year ahead of Yaya Toure and Ghana’s Andre Ayew.

The award was handed out at the CAF Awards Gala held in Lagos.

He is the first Gabonese to win the award since its inception.

He got 143 votes while Toure and Ayew had 136 and 112 respectively.

New African Football King: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Ghana’s C.K. Gyamfi was given the African Legend Award for his achievements with the Black Stars as he won the African Nations Cup in 1963, 1965 and 1982.

He passed on in 2015 but his feats were recognised posthumously and his son Edwin was present to take the award for the family.
