AFCON 2015: Black Stars Winning Bonus Slashed Down To $5000

Players of the Senior National team could see their winning bonus hack down to $5000. Ghanasportsonline.com understands.

Ghanasportsonline.com checks reveal that the Sports Ministry has proposed a decrement in the bonus package after a meeting between the Ministry and the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday.

The decision by the Ministry could possibly see the Black Stars players whom initially enjoyed a winning bonus of $10,000 per player slash down at the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The situation will however see each player of the Black Stars team earning up to $30,000 should the team progress to the finals of the competition.

It also emerged at the meeting that, each player will be handed a whooping sum of $60,000 should they win the Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The decision taken by the Sports Ministry and the Ghana FA is expected to prevent a repeat of the team’s World Cup debacle in Brazil.
