“As of January to date, about 12,600 people have lost their jobs due to the energy deficit,” he disclosed saying that “ If the energy deficit continues to threaten the economy… investors cannot invest in Ghana.”

Speaking at the National Job summit, the 1st Vice President of the Ghana Employers Association Dr.Yaw Adu Gyamfi said the country is gradually losing the fight against unemployment.


According to employers, the situation can be solely blamed on the ongoing power crisis and the resultant increase in the cost of production.Industry is currently reeling from the power crisis after the sector was roped into the load-rationing schedule at the beginning of the year.
