"I am at post and I intend to see out my mandate" - Kwabena Agyapong

There was momentary confusion over the status of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kwabena Agyapong, after Accra-based Joy FM reported Tuesday evening that the he had resigned.

The Joy FM report was based on a statement purportedly issued to the media by Mr Agyapong, saying that he has resigned. But the General Secretary denied issuing the statement on the radio station.

"I am at post and I intend to see out my mandate," he said, adding that people who wanted to him out of office should go by the constitutional processes available.

Some of supporters of the NPP have called for Mr Agyapong to resign after the murder of the party’s Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama, in an acid attack.
