What to expect at the Apple "iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and iPad Pro" event tomorrow

The invitation for Apple's event tomorrow said, "Hey Siri, give us a Hint."

Nice try. Despite CEO Tim Cook's pledge in 2012 to "double down on secrecy," the details of the upcoming product announcements have been steadily leaking out of Cupertino, California.

Thanks largely to the Apple-focused blog 9to5Mac.com, we have more than just a hint of what's to come when Cook and his team take the stage Wednesday at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

iPhones

The iPhone 6s will look much like its predecessor announced a year ago. Analysts expect an upgraded camera and more powerful processor.

Perhaps the biggest advancement will be the integration of Force Touch, which goes beyond the typical touch screen by determining how much pressure is being applied. The Apple Watch and new MacBooks already include Force Touch.

The iPhone 6s Plus will see the same upgrades but for the larger 5.5-inch screen.

Here's what the invitation was likely talking about with the Siri reference. Bringing the voice-activation technology to its streaming box would allow Apple to augment (or eventually replace) the physical remote.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster says the hands-free technology will likely give Apple TV an even bigger facelift.

"The new Apple TV could include passive listening similar to Amazon's Echo that could extend beyond content and search control to HomeKit, which would control smart devices in your home," Munster wrote.

According to 9to5Mac.com, the upgraded Apple TV will also have search functionality that allows users to search across all applications rather than just within individual apps.

iPad

Two new iPads are also on the way, 9to5Mac.com reports.

The iPad Pro will have a bigger display, a Force Touch screen and stereo-style speakers.

The iPad Mini 4 will be thinner than its predecessor and possibly include more processing power.
