Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, Youngest MP in Ghana graduates from KNUST

Ms. Francisca Oteng Mensah has graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with second class honors.

The 24 year old woman who stood on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region, was hailed as the youngest Member of Parliament.

Ms Francisca Oteng was already enrolled at the university and was in her final year pursuing LLB at the College of Humanities when she contested for the position.

She beat the incumbent Kofi Frimpong with 321 votes in an area known to be a hub of the then-opposition party and coincidentally gave the NPP a chunk of its votes.

When asked how she was going to juggle her work and school she told reporters that she was more than capable of handling both jobs.

She graduated over the weekend along with 2,200 from the university.
