Embattled President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi is in hot waters in an investigative piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas. Nyantakyi in the exposé made secret revelations when he met Anas and his team who posed as the investors. In summary, Member of Parliament of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong was mentioned as a potential shareholder of the company to be created by Nyantakyi and his cronies. "I know that the Chinese money is coming. It is about $2bn.I have spoken to Anthony Karbo," he said. Parliament approves US ‘military base’ deal

Parliament has approved the Ghana-US defence cooperation agreement which seeks to provide a space in the country to host some US military troops. The approval was done by only Majority Members of Parliament because the Minority staged a walkout during the debate on the Floor of the House on Friday night. “This House adopts the report from the joint committee on defense and interior,” the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye said after the approval. Prior to staging the walkout, the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu spoke for close to 17 minutes giving a litany of reasons why they believe the agreement should not be ratified by Parliament. He however urged Majority to approve the agreement without them saying “you [the Majority] can cowardly approve the agreement” without the Minority. -citi

President Akufo-Addo to implement Free University after fixing the economy

Nana Addo hinted of plans to make university education universally free after the smooth implementation of the Free Senior High School Program. Speaking in Kyebi as part of his tour of the Eastern Region, he said “I have two things to share with you on education. First the government treasures education and so, we will do everything to make it easily accessible to all children. If God permits and we are able to fix this economy for it to improve, we will even make university education free,” the President stated. He further assured that the ongoing Free SHS policy “will never be cancelled. It is here to stay. It is an irreversible piece of social legislation. When we leave, it will remain.”

Court reverses rustication of 22 UCC students; each to get GH¢10k out of the 100k requested

With just a paper left for them to graduate, these 22 students, most of whom were executives of ATL hall were served with rustication letters. The students then sent the case to court. A Cape Coast High Court on Friday ruled in favour of the 22 students. They are to be given GH¢10,000 each as costs. Before Friday’s ruling, the students had secured an ex-parte injunction to write their end-of-semester exams. All but Enock Abeiku Bart-Plange Tawiah were rusticated for two semesters. Master Bart-Plange Tawiah, who was the President of Atlantic Hall, was rusticated for four semesters as he was cited for the “singular act… to aid the Vandals to enter Oguaa Hall”. “His act has caused Destruction of University Property contrary to Article 46 (g) of the Students’ Handbook,” the University authorities said in their statement outline the procedure they followed in meting out the punishment. 2 Kumasi Academy students die 'mysteriously', 3 others hospitalized

Information reaching us indicate at least two first-year students of Kumasi Academy have lost their lives under mysterious circumstances. The others have been hospitalized at the  Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Hospital. School authorities are unclear about the cause of death and ailment. Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah reports Friday the students were rushed to the hospital after they complained of "fever-like conditions" at the school's clinic.

Ghana Revenue Authority to close down Accra Mall over tax debt

Senior Officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) on the 29th of November 2017 went to the premises of the Accra Mall to shut down the facility. This action was because owners of the mall have failed to pay taxes to the State. They owe over 2.3million.

Starbow plane crashes: Skids off tarmac

A Starbow aircraft crashed this afternoon at the Kotoka International Airport  The plane skidded off the tarmac and landed on grass, a source at the Airport confirmed to Myjoyonline.com  Officials of Starbow have not been available for comment but the Aviation Minister Cecilia Dapaah will not confirm or deny the accident when Myjoyonline.com spoke to her. She would rather a technical report is issued to explain exactly what happened in order not to create fear and panic. Unconfirmed reports say at least five people have sustained minor injuries and have been rushed to the hospital. Myjoyonline.com cannot immediately confirm same.

‘Ashaiman To The World’ concert, an event headlined by dancehall act Stonebwoy did not end well. Stonebwoy's performance was nearly halted before it even started before he stepped on stage. The event which took place at the Sakasaka Park at Ashaiman on September 30 evening has a couple of unknown people attempting to stab the musician. The musician later took to Facebook to confirmed the issue. Many of the attendees had no idea the ordeal Stonebwoy had gone through before his performance.

After 2 years of marriage and months of speculations, Chris Attoh has confirmed that his marriage to Damilola Adegbite is over. The rumors started this valentine's day when Chris posted photos of his wife on social media, wishing her a happy second wedding anniversary but she "blueticked" him. Damilola tried to salvage the situation some months later by posting a birthday shout out to Chris, proclaiming her love for him. Ghana wins maritime dispute; Cote d'Ivoire denied rights to the oil

The International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) accepted Ghana’s arguments in the maritime dispute with Ivory Coast and ruled in favour of Ghana. Ghana argued that the equidistance rule be used in delimiting the maritime boundary between the two countries. The Chamber rejected Ivory Coast’s claim that a meridian measurement be used.

Achimota school student convicted for murder

After almost a year of court activities, a juvenile Court in Accra has sentenced the 18-year old final year student of Achimota School who shot his girlfriend with his father’s single barrel gun to three years at the correctional home. The deceased Lily Dzigbordi Asigbetse who lived at Cantonments had visited the accused person at Community eight (8) in Tema. The incident occurred on January 5 2017. The accused told the police that he intended to shoot into the air however the gravity of the gun changed course and hit the deceased. The latest judgement by the court has been met with praise by the family of the deceased. A family member, Peggy Ama Donkor wrote on her Facebook Timeline:  “Our God indeed answers by fire and vindicates his own.
