2017 Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert in Pictures

Sarkodie’s annual Christmas concert, the Rapperholic Concert 5 happened live at the Accra International Conference Centre on Monday. It was sold out and everyone had mad fun! President Akufo-Addo to implement Free University after fixing the economy

Nana Addo hinted of plans to make university education universally free after the smooth implementation of the Free Senior High School Program. Speaking in Kyebi as part of his tour of the Eastern Region, he said “I have two things to share with you on education. First the government treasures education and so, we will do everything to make it easily accessible to all children. If God permits and we are able to fix this economy for it to improve, we will even make university education free,” the President stated. He further assured that the ongoing Free SHS policy “will never be cancelled. It is here to stay. It is an irreversible piece of social legislation. When we leave, it will remain.”

CRIME: 17-yr old unarmed GSTS student shot dead by Police officer

Residents of Shama Junction, Ituma and Nyanikrom and others in the Shama District of the Western Region, are in a state of shock after a 17-year-old final year student of the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) in Takoradi, was allegedly shot and killed by a police constable. The constable, popularly known in the area as Shaibu, is believed to have shot the student at about 8:30pm on Friday, December 22. Reports indicate that, he opened fire on five students when he came across them on their way to a rap concert at Shama Junction. One of the five students, Caroline Daddie, who narrated the incident to Citi News, stating that the police officer, without any provocation, opened fire on them after he called them them armed robbers. She explained that “I had come to visit my friends to prepare for the dancing competition which was supposed to take place at the school park at 7:30pm. ACCRA: Taxify launches with special discount for riders

Competition for Uber  “Accra is an exciting and vibrant market with a majority youth population constantly on the move. Taxify is here to contribute to healthy competition in the market by ensuring that drivers can take more money home driving on our platform and riders can save money at the same time.” Operations Manager of Taxify Ghana, Albert Aryee, said. Taxify takes only 15% commission from its drivers, compared to the 25% that competitors take. Court reverses rustication of 22 UCC students; each to get GH¢10k out of the 100k requested

With just a paper left for them to graduate, these 22 students, most of whom were executives of ATL hall were served with rustication letters. The students then sent the case to court. A Cape Coast High Court on Friday ruled in favour of the 22 students. They are to be given GH¢10,000 each as costs. 2 Kumasi Academy students die 'mysteriously', 3 others hospitalized

Information reaching us indicate at least two first-year students of Kumasi Academy have lost their lives under mysterious circumstances. The others have been hospitalized at the  Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Hospital. School authorities are unclear about the cause of death and ailment. Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah reports Friday the students were rushed to the hospital after they complained of "fever-like conditions" at the school's clinic.
